Research on Robotics
Description
Robotics is a research area that combines many elements of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning along with Electronics and Engineering. Our research focuses on autonomous robotics with an emphasis on probabilistic methods for coping with the uncertainty of the real world and on the development of efficient algorithms and software for information processing on on-board computers. Our lab is also the home of the RoboCup team Kouretes (www.kouretes.gr), which competes in all tracks of the Standard Platform League since 2006. RoboCup is a challenging international competition and provides the means for comparing integrated robotic systems. Kouretes won the 2nd place in MSRS Simulation at RoboCup 2007, the 1st place in MSRS Simulation at RoboCup 2008, the 3rd place in the 2-Legged Nao robots at RoboCup 2008, and the 2nd place in the SPL Open Challenge at RoboCup 2011.
